Artist's Description
November 1st is opening season for scalloping on the Bass River, Cape Cod. My children and I would get up later than the 5 AM "grouping" time for my husband to join the scallopers. We could always hear the gentle sound of the motors as the boaters followed their nets around the river floor. The morning I did this painting we went to have a "looksee" before they were off to school. The morning sun had not come over the horizon yet, casting a pinkish glow to the river bed.
